Zonith - safety app

Close-up image of the Staff Safety App on a smartphone screen. The interface shows two prominent buttons: one red button labeled "PANIC" and one green button labeled "Assistance." Two construction workers in a warehouse are partially visible in the background.

Used technologies

  • iOS
  • Android

Aim of the project

The purpose of the ZONITH Staff Safety App is to give iPhone users the ability to raise a panic alarm when in distress. This can result from interaction with the main screen of the App, or by pressing a physical panic button on the ZONITH Bluetooth ID Badge (the smart ID card holder) communicating with the iPhone. The ZONITH server-based software solution will recognize the panic alarms and dispatch alerts instantly to the relevant parties to call for assistance.
The Staff Safety App on a smartphone screen shows two stages: a text message being typed that reads "Assistance required on 3rd floor," and a subsequent alert indicating that the user "John Campbell" pressed the panic button, with the same message highlighted.

Key features

  • Lone-Worker protection service that automatically raises an alarm if the user does not confirm their presence.
  • Handling of alarms sent from the ZONITH server-based software.
  • Ability to accept, decline, or cancel alarms, informing all other recipients in real time.
  • Support for GPS positioning outdoors and Bluetooth positioning indoors for quick and accurate assistance.
